Views of the Saturn I SA-4 launch, including retrorockets ignition. For this test flight, one of the engines was programmed to shut down after about 100 seconds (01:50). The rocket reached a maximum height of 129 km and a peak velocity of 5906 km per hour. At this point (02:20) it fired the first stage separation retrorockets as a test. No actual stage separation was planned for this flight (the second stage was a dummy with the aerodynamic design of the real second stage ). Sequences shown in real time, with multiple views when possible. Assembled from several NASA, public domain and historical documentaries. #SA4 #Apollo #Saturn #NASA #testflight
